The meeting of the Legislature-Parliament Development Committee Monday issued instructions to the concerned government bodies to expedite the construction of a cricket stadium at Mulpani on the outskirts of the capital city with vigour while developing it to the international standard.bikas samiti
The Committee also instructed for giving special focus on the development of cricket. The meeting attended by representatives from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Finance Ministry, National Sports Council and Cricket Association of Nepal discussed on ways to keep the sporting venue under construction in a readied position in view of the possibility of Nepal holding international cricket matches with the recent upgradation of the Nepali cricket team in the ICC Division One.
The Committee directed the Finance Ministry and the Ministry of Youth and Sports to facilitate smooth allocation of the budget and to development capacity to use the budget during the construction of the venue.
In the meeting, the Committee Chairman Rabindra Adhikari said construction of a cricket field was of foremost priority and importance for development of cricket in the country and instructed the Sports Ministry to formulate systematic planning to develop high-end cricket stadiums at important locations of the country.
The Committee has said the under construction cricket stadium at Mulpani, Dasharath Stadium, Kirtipur cricket field and the venue at Pulchowk Engineering Campus could be upgraded and developed in short time.
